Founded in 2009 by Shane and Erica Peterman, Arise Acting Studio’s mission is to shape and transform lives by teaching life skills through stage skills.
We believe in living truthfully in a professional, positive, and non-competitive environment. Excellence begins in the classroom and filters onto the stage, into the work and, most importantly, into the lives of our students. Arise Acting Studio also produces three full scale professional quality productions per year and offers travel opportunities to various locations each year for students to study and perform with other professionals in the industry.

Our goal as an organization is to strengthen the community; and most importantly the children of that community through excellence in theatrical arts education. Our credo of teaching life skills through stage skills has proven to us that relationship building is the bigger picture, it is what matters the most and keeps our families invested for many years. Most communities have many artists who are educated in the arts that are attracted to the flexible schedule and can bring their own angle to each lesson or class they teach which makes staffing relatively easy. In short, we truly believe that our success is built on relationships, quality, excellence, and the ability to focus on that consistent experience while providing value to our families and partners.

Arise Acting Studio is led by a combined 60 years of professional working experience and over 35 years of arts educational Studio owners and staff is made up of professional producers, directors, choreographers and performers in the industry. Shane and Erica are both members of Actor’s Equity Association with professional credits ranging from New York City to London and Los Angeles.
Shane Peterman is a working actor and a family man, making Arise Acting Studio an endeavour that is close to his heart. He has worked extensively with theatre’s across the country as an actor, director, educator and facilitator for the last 20 years. Shane currently serves as Producing Artistic Director for one of North Texas’ largest professional theatres, WaterTower Theatre. As Producer for Lyric Stage for five seasons, Shane was instrumental in creating two world premiere musicals: PURE COUNTRY based on the 1992 Warner Brothers Film co-producing with TONY Award Winner Mike Skipper; and QUANAH written by and starring Grammy Award Winner Larry Gatlin feauturing David Phelps (SONY RED Cast recording).

After training with Arise Acting Studio as a student during my high school years, I went on to pursue a degree in in Acting; however, I found myself conflicted as to whether the obvious path as a working artist in New York city would provide the best way to meet my goals as an artist and individual. Arise Acting Studio provided an opportunity to not only fulfill my passions and reach the goals set for myself, but also to give back to the art in greater ways than I had considered possible. I opened Arise Acting Studio Rockwall location in 2017 and have been able to find the greatest fulfillment in creating a place where the next generation of artists has the opportunity to discover their passions and for children who wanted to perform for fun would have a place to do so in an environment that strives towards pushing each student to be bold, be daring, and to be themselves!”
